Part One: Working Style

According to the 5 Dynamics Energy Map, my working style is deliberate in Execute and Excite and extreme in Explore. I am lucky that I don’t have the stress-energy energy of my life’s nervous and erratic energy. I regard myself as creative, autonomous, and flexible in my academic and personal life. Being extreme in Explore, one of my particular strengths is that I have a lot of creative and innovative drive. Therefore, I am incredibly open-minded. As a result, I am pretty good at thinking about innovative thoughts and starting assignments and activities. I appreciate attempting a variety of new and fascinating enterprises. I can organize and plan a family event down to minor details (Ekström et al., 2018). I like large gatherings and innovating and creating various events to perform. Another quality is that I have the “last to jump ship” type of personality because I have a high level of exploratory energy. I dislike conflict and am loyal. I will be willing to compromise and be adaptable to discover workable solutions.

Two particular issues related to my working style are that Sometimes I struggle to keep motivated to complete the several projects that I commence and that I might be overly highly loyal. Because I have a high level of Explore energy, I purport to become caught in it because I find it simple to start numerous things. Still, I need to exercise refocusing and putting effort into finishing them (Bäcklander, 2019). I tend to become so enthused about various ideas and sketch out several details concerning them that I prefer to leap from one to the next (Ekström et al., 2018). One task might take me a long time to finish. Also, because I am frequently overly loyal, I often want everybody I work with or those around me to get along. I devote so much effort to avoiding confrontation or thinking solutions that may become exhausting for me. I also have a habit of overextending myself and ending up all over.

I want my colleagues to adopt a collaborative working style. A collaborative working style is one in which the members of particular groups come together and harness their strengths to accomplish particular tasks. Additionally, weaknesses are identified and rectified during the process. When working on a class project, for instance, it may be divided into different parts and assigned to individuals depending on their strengths (Bäcklander, 2019). In the end, each individual educates the rest of the team.

Part Two: Communication

This lesson has taught me that I am an excellent communicator and listener. I have an exceptional capacity to listen intensely and effectively, which results in incorrectness and honesty in my talks. Even though I do not often put it into practice with individuals I speak with, I recognize that with exercise, I can continue improving as an effective communicator.

For instance, as a medical practitioner, I can listen closely to my patients’ problems, which is critical to facilitating better results in their treatment. Being an active listener enables me to effectively perceive and comprehend the patients’ demands, vocally and through gesture, by giving them my undivided attention. When I took care of my spouse not long ago, I used a typical example of authentic listening (Ekström et al., 2018). He’d caught a cold and inquired what I considered the best way to treat his signs and symptoms. He also mentioned many things that he frequently hears from previous chats. For example, he should avoid touching his face, use hand sanitizer and wash his hands. He describes it as “softly harassing him.” He anticipated my typical barrage of “I told you so” after finishing his prattling. However, I greeted him with, “I’m sorry to hear you’re not well. I comprehend what you’re saying, and I know you are in a bad mood; I’m here to make you feel better whenever necessary. What else can I do to make you feel at ease? Please take this medication as directed.” He didn’t expect that from me, but he did anticipate judgment. Nevertheless, he welcomed me as the outcome of my active listening to him and responding from a position of truthfulness (Bäcklander, 2019). This lesson has taught me that being able to listen correctly leads to better results.

I’ve been talking on the pretense level and in a waste cycle with my family and friends. I’m not very open, and I’m not very good at communicating my concerns and thoughts. It has often been more straightforward to say, “I am OK,” rather than explain how I genuinely feel even though the emotions on my face reveal my true feelings regularly. I’ve realized that I can’t keep up this degree of deception for much longer since it will inevitably worsen my relationships. This course has taught me that being real increases our friendships and communication.

When I have to explain what troubles me, I fall into the cycle of waste. I now understand that the first step in resolving this issue is determining what has stymied my development (Ekström et al., 2018). I will be sincere and honest and sincere about my sentiments to shift from pretense to speaking with sincerity. I will not keep things to myself but will be forthcoming when asked about them.

When communicating with individuals around us, particularly individuals who rely on me, I strive for sincerity. In the hospital, I want my patients to understand every aspect of the treatment I am providing them. Speaking from a place of honesty is critical since it communicates to everybody that I am available in whatever capacity they require and results in a greater comprehension, which promotes better results (Men & Yue, 2019). Naturally, I am an individual who wants to assist and repair things; I have learned to put this knowledge into effect in this course; I can be more compassionate and less judgmental. These characteristics will assist me in being more accurate and, in general, being great traits to be a better human being.

Part Three: Reflection/Hero’s Journey

Overall, this course has equipped me with a lot of knowledge that will be a valuable tool in the school environment and my daily life at home and work. I was suspicious of the learning at first since I thought I was an outstanding leader and communicator since I had worked in a healthcare facility during the holiday. I was aware that I was well-liked, personable, and often prepared to assist when required. Via group discussions, videos for the learning modules, and readings, I learned how to be more successful with my speaking and listening abilities. I also learned a lot about my Dynamic learning style. I discovered that I am extreme on Excite at times, and therefore, I may be obligated to tone it down to embrace some of the other practical and efficient working methods. Too much of one type is terrible, and I must include tiny amounts of the other working styles to maximize my achievement. Some of the essential takeaways that I will constantly utilize from this include my Dynamic learning type analysis, the cycle of waste vs. cycle of value principles, the five dynamic energy groups, and the fact that we have company during our struggles. It was an invaluable experience for me, and it will help shape how I interact and behave with individuals in my life, be it at home, work, or school.

I could help those immediately around me through attentive listening to some of their small talks. I could pick out a problem and offer a solution wherever I could help. Additionally, teamwork is necessary; I may urge them to use a collaborative working style to solve the problem where everyone offers their best. Further, I need to develop certain aspects of my communication and leadership skills. For instance, I need to improve my discipline to allow me to remain motivated through all the tasks I have been assigned. I plan to improve on this area through gradual exercise. Whenever I feel demotivated, I may develop targets to allow me to perform as much as I can every day. Also, I need to censor my loyalty. Loyalty is a double-edged sword. Therefore, I need to reduce the number of individuals and tasks I am loyal to. I will cut off all aspects that are not worth my time.

A Chicago Hometown Hero Sample Assignment

Chance the Rapper is among the high-profiled icons and significant figures of the rap music culture of today’s generation. Born on April 16, 1993, as Chancelor Johnathan Bennet, his music career hit the roof and began to receive mainstream recognition in 2013 after his Acid Rap mixtape. His most revered album, Coloring Book, which was released in 2016, earned him acclaimed awards, including three Grammy Awards and a BET humanitarian award, to mention just a few. Because his rap music has brought him acclaimed music accolades and awards, Chance the Rapper’s music evolution, through his kindness, has motivated him to participate in social activism and impart immense positive influence on the lives of the vulnerable people in the community.

In 2015, Chance launched the Warmest Winter campaign, raising more than $100,000 to distribute coats to Chicago’s homeless, and teamed up with the Chicago Public Library to organize 15 free open-mic events for new artists.” (“Chance the Rapper,” Contemporary Black Biography). The amount raised enabled these upcoming artists to perform at an accessible cost.

Chance is a celebrated figure in his native hometown of Chicago for his benevolent acts and has worked to improve the fortunes and opportunities of young people (CBS News). Bennett generously gives back to his community due to his success as a rapper. In particular, he tends to give back to the communities where he emerged due to the harrowing academic experiences that students of today’s generation share (“Chance the Rapper,” Contemporary Black Biography).

With his Coloring Book album, Chance’s loyal followers, who are numerous on the Internet, are looking up at him as he walks the thin line between secular and religious. Coloring Book is not a thorough gospel album. However, its multicultural awareness and artistic guidance are undoubtedly worthy of praise. Chance’s powerful statements about transition and compassion are inspiring: “I think our duty as American citizens is to be involved and engaged in anything that affects us.” As an artist, I must use my platform, and as a father, brother, and black man, I must be as socially aware and present as possible.” (Robinson). Such utterances encourage those around to be more interpersonally constantly alert to issues in contemporary society.

Chance endeavors to motivate and inspire others to do the correct thing. His community outreach and hard work through devotion remain to significantly better the lives of others, especially the helpless ones. Chance found greatness on his own, and in doing so, he effectively became a hometown hero.

According to Abduqarrib’s christened ‘golden year’ topic in They Can’t Kill Us Until They Kill Us, he compares Chance’s music to the church and how his heartwarming album ‘The Coloring Book’ was a blessing to the people. Abduqarrib goes beyond to say that Chance’s album ‘Coloring Book’ had such a significant impact on people in 2016 that it enabled the people to get through the election, the Pulse nightclub shooting, and other sad occasions that had previously occurred two years ago. However, that was not the end of his album, and it turned to something that “……is both hollow and touchable, partly because it cannot be described besides visualized and experienced.” (8). Chance’s story also speaks to how his music is viewed by those who eagerly listen to it. Abdurraqib describes Chance’s ascension to celebrity as “…the Midwest kid made good…Chicago is in the middle of the countrywide discussion, occupying space in interesting and unsettling instances. Its name is uttered by politicians who consider any place where black people live to be a conflict zone.” (9). Abduqarrib and other writers consider Chance the Rapper to have come a long way and has conveyed happiness to many individuals through his music and fittingly using his prominence.

The bad reputation of rap music has received over the past decades has not been worthwhile. The public viewed rap music from a racial perspective. Thanks to Chance the Rapper’s music influence, that stereotype inception of rap music as violent and anti-feminist has changed with time (Rap & Race, 607). Chance the Rapper has used his music by conveying a message about delicate social concerns that other individuals were frightened to talk about and even overlooked.

Through his music and effect, Chance brought awareness regarding the education system in his hometown of Chicago.

A Comparative Review On The World Hunger And Possible Solutions Sample College Essay

Introduction

Food security has been a major problem for mankind for centuries, causing millions of deaths, malnutrition, economic collapse and conflict. Today, many people are experiencing food shortages and its effects. Food shortages arise from multiple factors, a major cause being poor governance in nations, which are linked to corruption, failing political affiliations and economic breakdowns (Atkins, 2017). As it is generally thought, food security has not been majorly as a source of drought, but a governance issue. This survey assesses the changing distribution of world hunger over time, the problem behind world hunger, and possible strategic solutions to curb this problem.

Data Description

To establish the underlying problem well enough, it is worth analysing the existing data in order to compare the trends in world hunger. In this case, we do a comparison of the world hunger in 1990, comparing it to most recent distribution in 2012, between 10 countries across the world.

It is clearly seen that the total number of people who are experiencing world hunger has dropped from 1015 million to 805 million people. However, even with this trend, a closer look reveals that some countries have increasing trends in hunger. The following countries had an increase in hunger: Sub-Saharan Africa (17.3% to 26.6%), Southern Asia (28.8% to 34.3%), Western Asia (0.8% to 2.3%), and North Africa (0.6% to 0.7%); all other countries in the study contributed to this decline in world hunger. The next section draws insights from the data characteristics revealed.

Problem

The problems that are faced with countries with hunger levels in this study are majorly a sluggish growth of the economy (which is majorly accused on governance) and health problems.

Sluggish growth of the economy

A close link exists between poverty and malnutrition, and disadvantaged persons often lack access to education due to financial restrictions.

Additionally, malnourished persons may have difficulty concentrating since their brain does not get the nutrition it need to function properly, which may result in a lack of understanding on the subject (Siddiqui, et al., 2020). As a consequence, a lack of education may cause these persons to become trapped in poverty as a result of their inability to find well-paying employment.

Due to a lack of food, many are driven to move in search of food and support. As a consequence, radical groups may spring up as individuals attempt to survive in their current circumstances. In the vast majority of cases, radical movements result in undesirable outcomes such as conflict and opposition to authority (Purvis, et al., 2019). These interrelated problems hinder economic growth and keep the majority of people’s living standards at or below the poverty line.

Health problems

Hunger leads to malnutrition, which in turn leads to an array of other health issues. Malnutrition is particularly harmful to children, but it can also result in a number of health issues in adults. We are more prone to suffer from major mental health problems if our bodies do not receive appropriate nutrition or if they are low in specific vitamins or minerals, for example (Gundersen & Ziliak, 2015). Aside from causing nutritional deficiencies, malnutrition can also create more significant physical health problems such as circulatory failure, which can be fatal in severe cases. It is also possible that malnutrition could result in organ failure, particularly if the nutritional deficiency is extreme, and that malnutrition will result in strokes or heart attacks in severe cases.

The total life expectancy of those who are severely malnourished may be significantly reduced. Individuals living in destitute developing countries, for example, have a much shorter life expectancy than those living in wealthy Western nations (RG & S., 1989). This gap in life expectancy can be explained in part by the fact that malnutrition as a result of poverty leads to a range of health problems, some of which are fatal, and so reduces the life expectancy of those who are afflicted by it.

Solution

To curb world hunger, this survey establishes that corruptive activities must be mitigated, and redistribution of wealth must be encouraged throughout the world. Only this way, will the underlying problems from hunger be solved. Under these two major factors, more and more solutions will automatically emerge. For example, with redistribution of wealth in pace, countries will be able to adapt to climate changes and employ methods like smart agriculture; a collection of practices designed to assist farmers in adapting and becoming more robust to the effects of global warming. Diversifying crop types, protecting natural resources, and constructing low-water sack gardens are some of the measures being used.

Evaluation

In this section, I evaluate the validity of curbing corruption and redistributing wealth to fight world hunger.

On curbing corruptive governance, anti-corruption measures must be implemented by all governments throughout the globe in order to tackle the malnutrition epidemic. Among these efforts is the fight against corruption not just inside their own country, but also in neighbouring nations. Commerce with corrupt nations should be restricted until their political systems have been rectified (UK Department for International Development, 2015). This has resulted in the fact that these nations would suffer substantial long-term economic costs if they do not overhaul their institutional structures. As a result, curbing immoral behaviour will aid in the resolution of the starvation situation.

On redistribution of wealth, governments must work together to achieve a more equitable distribution of wealth in their different countries. In many poor developing nations, a tiny number of powerful elites have sway over almost all of the country’s resources. When it comes to the general population, redistribution may be able to assist reduce poverty and therefore solve the malnutrition issue. As a consequence, all forms of gender discrimination will be immediately eliminated (TTOENDE Inequality, 2013). Women must take a more active role in economic activity and decision-making than they have in previous generations. Women’s empowerment empowers them to pursue higher education and make a positive contribution to society.

Conclusion

World hunger, in these modern times, is not only a matter of climatic conditions, but other accompanying situations as discussed in this paper. The issues have been established to arise from basic weaknesses from governance and poverty, which give rise to other negative issues that foster food shortages. The provided solutions will work, however in a system where the main issue with hunger arises. With references to the data used in this study, the countries with increased hunger trends will be able to reduce hunger, by vouching for good governance and enhance wealth distribution.
