The recent four days have been quite a strange change of pace in the tendency for this summer. Instead of a relatively warm weather, which seems to have settled since June, a couple of cloudy and rather windy days passed. Despite the fact that the cold air fronts are only starting to move towards the northeast (Cool Pattern Ahead para. 1), Ohio has already experienced a couple of quite cold days.
Over the course of these four days, the changes in the temperature were quite unnoticeable; since the cold air front had already headed north, such cool weather could be observed since the last week. However, slight temperature variations still occurred; for example, on July, 7th, the temperature of the air was around 80° F, while the next day, it dropped to 72–74° F due to the northward movement of the cold air front.
On July, 8, however, the air temperature started rising again, which could be explained by the fact that little to no clouds could be observed. On July, 9, the temperature dropped again, reaching 73° F this time, with clouds emerging. The same phenomenon could be observed on July, 9, while the last day, it was clear and the temperature reached 82 ° F in the afternoon (Ohio Weather Maps para. 1).
The shifts in air pressure were also quite obvious and just as predictable. Indeed, on July, 8, it reached the 1008 mb mark and started rising the next day, hitting 1001 mb in the afternoon. Seeing that the relative humidity shifted from 47% on July, 8 to 63% on July, 9, a major weather change was anticipated on July, 9; however, the reality did not quite meet the expectations.
After the aforementioned shifts in the barometric pressure and the relative humidity of the air, it started raining slightly; however, the rain occurred not on July, 9 in the morning, as it could be expected, but on July, 8 at 10 p.m. Such a shift in the weather was quite surprising; it was assumed that the process of air saturation should be much longer and that the rain should start the next day (Lutgens and Tarbuck “The Atmosphere in Motion” 447).
However, due to a very rapid change in the weather conditions and a steep rise of relative humidity, the rain occurred somewhat earlier and could be observed in the evening. The remaining two days, with little change in the relative humidity, very similar rates of air pressure and the temperature of 76°–82° F, were quite predictable, and the weather was stable, with only a few clouds in the sky.
Overall, the analysis of the temperature and the relative humidity of the air could help predict the weather for the four days rather precisely. However, my experience has also shown how unstable the process of weather change is. It is quite hard to predict the exact movement of the air front, which makes weather forecasting very complicated and not quite certain (Lutgens and Tarbuck “Weather Patterns and Severe Weather” 473).
As the observations carried out over the past four days have shown, the Ohio area already experiences a considerable change in weather conditions, though the rare summer cold blast is only approaching, as the weather forecasts say (Cool Pattern Ahead para. 1). The observations show clearly that, though weather forecasts provide credible information most of the time, not all of the forecasts necessarily come true due to the specifics of the region, the changes in the air temperature, etc. The observation proved to be a unique experiment worth carrying out.

Analysis Of Weather Forecast
The phenomenon of the dew point is truly amazing in its simplicity. It can be observed on a regular basis, and it presupposes a change in the state of water, one of the most common chemical compounds on the Earth – or, to be more exact, the most common one (Lutgens and Tarbuck “Heating the Atmosphere” 378). Weirdly enough, the issue is quite difficult for people to grasp. Perhaps, it is the mentioning of the barometric pressure that causes people to misinterpret or forget one of the basic processes taking place in the atmosphere. In fact, a range of students do not regard the information about the dew point as important or significant.
The importance of knowing about the dew point can be demonstrated with the help of the following scenario. There is no secret that, knowing about the dew point and its relation to the temperature, one can predict the possibility of fog rather precisely. Consequently, a range of road accidents may occur due to the inability to use the information concerning the dew point in order to analyze the weather conditions.
Another example that does not show just as drastic consequences as the first one, yet demonstrates the importance of knowing what the dew point is, a scenario involving changes in the body perspiration system should be considered. For example, if a person is unaware of the process mentioned above and sets an additional source of humidity in the room, where the temperature is rather low, the risks of the person in question to develop health issues, including difficulties with breathing, rheumatism, etc. become quite possible.
The jokes about the weather forecast transcend cultural and ethnic boundaries; it seems that the issue truly is international, and the accuracy of weather forecasts is equally low in every corner of the world. Much to the credit of weather forecasters, they often provide rather precise information about the changes that are about to take place, as well as major events, such as storm, a snowfall, etc.
However, For the most part, the accuracy of weather forecasts leaves much to be desired. Despite the obvious comedy surrounding the issue, one must admit that the task of a person creating weather forecasts is, in fact, very complicated. Not only does one have to take into account every single factor that may affect the weather in the specified region, including both global and local factors, but also the slightest changes in the rates of H2O percentage in the atmosphere.
The latter being quite prone to rapid changes, frequent mistakes made by weather forecasters become quite understandable. Indeed, it is practically impossible to measure not only the exact amount of water that is evaporated per second, but also to define the effects that the evaporation process is going to have on the weather in a specific region.
True, certain forecasts, such as the possibility of a heavy rain or snow, can be predicted rather easily based on the rates of humidity in the air and, therefore, the speed of evaporation; however, since the dew point may shift from lower to higher temperature, the task of a weather forecaster must be extremely difficult. More to the point, it is crucial to take the dew point, the humidity rates, the temperature and the atmospheric pressure into account to make a more or less accurate forecast (Lutgens and Tarbuck “Moisture, Clouds and Perspiration” 414).

Literature Studies: “The Importance Of Being Earnest” By Oscar Wilde
Oscar Wilde’s comedy The Importance of Being Earnest highlights the prejudices and stereotypes which were widespread during the Victorian era. The writer illustrates how these biases could influence the life of an individual.
To some degree, this literary work can be compared to Molière’s play The Learned Ladies because both authors attempt to throw light on the hypocrisy of the norms established in the society.
So, these plays are similar in terms of themes examined by the playwrights. Apart from that, there are important stylistic elements that are present in two plays; for instance, one can mention the use of similar stock characters. Nevertheless, there are important details that should be taken into account.
For instance, the writers achieve a comic effect in different ways. In particular, Molière evinces laughter by highlighting the differences between people’s outward behavior and their inner world. In contrast, Oscar Wilde relies heavily on paradoxical statements that seem to be absurd and superficial. These are the main questions that should be examined more closely.
It should be mentioned that both writers focus on the story of people who attempt to retain their love despite the resistance of other people who are mostly driven by their prejudice. For instance, Oscar Wilde focuses on the experiences of John Worthing and Gwendolen Fairfax who are deeply in love with each other.
Nevertheless, Gwendolen’s aunt Lady Bracknell insists that Gwendolen’s spouse should be a person of the noble birth (Wilde 18). Moreover, she cannot accept a foundling like John. Therefore, this requirement can ruin their marriage. In turn, Molière explores the experiences of Henriette and Clitandre who are not allowed to marry because Henriette’s mother believes that her daughter has to marry a very pretentious poet and scholar named Trissotin (Molière 12).
These are some of the similarities in the narrative. To a great extent, this development of the plot is typical of such a genre as farce. However, Oscar Wilde and Molière employ this element of the narrative to illustrate the hypocrisy of many assumptions that people can often take for granted.
Much attention should to some common elements. In particular, one can use about stock characters who are typical of certain genres such as comedy or farce (Silverblatt 49). At first, it is possible to mention witty lovers who attempt to find ways of overcoming social obstacles that are artificially created for them. These people try to find loopholes that can enable them to overcome artificial barriers. This is another issue that should be taken into consideration.
Apart from that, the authors examine the same conflict between social norms and love. Both authors demonstrate that these norms can become obsolete and irrelevant. Certainly, the plays have different settings. In particular, Oscar Wilde’s play depicts the life of the Victorian society whereas Molière depicts people, living in seventeenth-century France. Nevertheless, in both case, the writers illustrate the social conventions that are based on biases or prejudices (Booth178). These are some of the similarities that can be distinguished.
Nevertheless, one should mention that Molière includes a negative character named Trissotin who tries to convince to disrupt the marriage of Henriette and Clitandre. In contrast, such a character is not included in Oscar Wilde’s play. This author wants to create a comedy of errors in which there is no separate villain who creates challenges for the protagonists. This is one of the points that can be made.
There are other important differences that should be taken into account. One should mention that the authors employ different comic elements. In particular, Oscar Wilde relies on witty, paradoxical, and slightly careless statements that attract the attention of the reader. For example, Lady Brackness expresses her views on marriage in the following way, “To speak frankly, I am not in favor of long engagements.
They give people the opportunity of finding out each other’s character before marriage, which I think is never advisable” (Wilde 61). These comments are important for illustrating the cynicism of Victorian society. In contrast, Molière achieves comic effects by underlying pretense in people’s behavior. For instance, he can focus on the shallowness of Trissotins. Apart from that, Molière shows that Henriette’s mother cannot distinguish true art from mediocrity. These are some of the distinctions that should not be overlooked by the readers.
Overall, these two plays demonstrate how people may overcome the barriers that can be explained primarily by social conventions that are sometimes accepted without questioning. In many cases, these norms are based on prejudice against a particular social group. Oscar Wilde and Molière depict a society in which people are forced to comply with the rules that they do not fully understand.
Nevertheless, these literary works have important distinctions. Molière highlights the pretentiousness of a person’s behavior, while Oscar Wilde applies paradoxes that are necessary to create a comic effect. These techniques enable the playwrights to showcase the flaws of society. These are the main arguments that can be put forward.
