Through the years, stakeholders in the health industry have created different information technologies that aid in planning, effectiveness and decision-making to improve patient efficiencies, including patient safety and care. However, although technology encroachment in the healthcare industry is associated with various benefits, it is also faced with several challenges.

Healthcare Technological Trends

In the healthcare sector, technological trends related to information and data are widely applied. These technologies include big data analytics, telemedicine and electronic health records. These technological trends have played a significant role in revolutionizing the healthcare sector. For instance, telemedicine allows healthcare providers to utilize wearable devices, including patient monitors, electrocardiograms and mobile phones, to diagnose and track chronic patients remotely (Rao-Gupta et al., 2018). The trend enables asynchronous and synchronous telehealth modalities and minimizes the cost of seeking healthcare services and contact between healthcare providers and patients.

Similarly, electronic health records include digital versions of a patient’s paper charts, thus making patient information available to the intended and authorized users (Sharma & Patten, 2022). In addition, big data analytics enables large data sets’ analysis, thus creating colourations and evolving predictive models. Therefore, these technological trends allow healthcare experts to access patient information quickly, offer efficient remote medical services and simultaneously offer insights into data from complex heterogeneous sources.

Potential challenges and risks

Nonetheless, healthcare technological trends face several challenges, such as privacy concerns and related issues. For instance, using Electronic Health Records brings about major patient privacy concerns due to cyber security attacks that lead to data bleaching. In addition, the Electronic Health Records system implementation and maintenance cost is high since a healthcare organization must invest in expensive software and hardware, acquire the technical IT staff, and conduct maintenance practices more often to prevent malfunctioning (McConnell & Kane, 2018). Also, telemedicine requires patients to be literate on how to utilize software and equipment. Patients find telemedicine complicated to utilize as it necessitates specific software and equipment, thus opting for physical clinical visits. Similarly, the high cost of big data analytics leads to inadequate data governing procedures such as data formatting, cleaning and formatting, thus preventing data capturing from different sources. Thus, significant challenges facing the healthcare technology trends include cyber security concerns, high implementation and maintenance costs and inadequate literacy levels to utilize the necessary software and equipment.

Data Safety

A potential benefit among the outlined technologies includes their security to protect patient data. These technologies can utilize cryptography to protect patient data, thus preventing cyber security and guaranteeing patient information privacy concerns and safety. However, a potential risk includes the hackers threat, which might lead to data systems challenges upon accessing the software storing patient information.

Promising healthcare technology trends

The Electronic Healthcare Records system is the most promising technological trend. This trend includes patient portals that allow the healthcare professional to access patient data quickly and grant patients access to their medical records, improving disease prevention and awareness through consistent patient engagement, thus increasing self-management (Sharma & Patten, 2022). Despite the security concerns, which can be mitigated using technical controls such as intrusion prevention and firewalls to prevent security breaches, this trend can continue to improve patient care data management and outcomes as it will prevent medical errors and improve patient safety and care efficiency due to easy data access.

Conclusion

Healthcare technology trends affect various aspects of patient care and safety. Examples include Electronic Health Records systems, telemedicine and big data analytics, whose main aim is to improve patient care and efficiency through easy access to data, remote medical services and information available from various healthcare sources. However, information technologic hazards can severely impact patient safety and care delivery, thus necessitating the need for security awareness training, installation of security software and increasing software and equipment awareness among users.

Introduction

Thesis statement: Personal leadership philosophies involve individual principles, values, and beliefs that form a decision-making foundation. They guide a leader’s life and work-related issues.

Personal leadership philosophies make people take responsibility for their choices and actions. The kind of leader I want to be is determined by my mission which keeps me from straying. Understanding individual characters is important because it becomes easy to define them, and I also incorporate who I am as a human being. Leaders should have respect for all and practice loyalty and integrity to ensure their mission is achieved. A leader is responsible for creating an environment that fosters effective communication to achieve success. Loyalty involves a commitment to an organisation’s mission by incorporating team members to complete the required tasks. Respect for others encourages the development of lasting relationships between employees and leaders. Communication and sharing of ideas are easy because of the relationship fostered in an organization (Shanafelt et al., 2021). healthy relationships encourage consultations and putting efforts towards achieving a particular goal. Integrity encourages transparency leading to trust between the workers and the leader. Integrity requires leaders to be honest and often acknowledge their weaknesses and strengths.

Vision: To achieve positive health outcomes and help patients achieve their well-being.

CliftonStrengths Assessment

CliftonStrengths are based on discovering an individual’s top strengths and self-awareness in performance. My CliftonStrengths result from my talent, which helps me influence my workmates in doing what is right to achieve healthcare goals in the organization. Motivating fellow employees at individual levels is easy since I do what I love, and it makes me understand my innate skills. My other strength is that I look forward to maintaining positivity in my work environment; I encourage my colleagues to be responsible for their activities and have a passion (Shanafelt et al., 2021). A positive environment motivates employees to work hard and remain committed to their work which reveals their true selves.

The two main behaviours I should strengthen as a leader are self-awareness and commitment. A leader should be an example to others in an organization; therefore, there is a need to show a high commitment level which employees can follow to achieve organizational goals (Enyia, 2020). committed leaders determine workplace atmosphere because growth is encouraged. The second behaviour is self-awareness, where a leader needs to know areas that need improvement and encourage the provision of quality services. Self-awareness aims to maintain focus and complement oneself. A team has different members with different strengths, complementing each other to attain organizational goals.

Key behaviours to strengthened

I want to improve my self-awareness by having an open mind when handling issues and making decisions. I should get used to the emotions of people around me and know how to regulate mine. For instance, teamwork makes it easy for me to understand what every employee can do. It enables me to be part of the team and not always depending on one individual all the time. Opening up to others makes me as a leader to be creative and innovative (Bishop et al., 2023). Easy identification of emotional triggers in the environment enables me to understand the causes and look forward to addressing them through communication. Self-discipline is also important as it promotes endurance in the leadership position; for example, during teamwork, the main goal is important for all to work towards achieving it (Perry, 2020).

Development plan

The construction of career growth opportunities has increased commitment to healthcare organizations; for example, when nurses are allowed to learn as they work is important because it encourages progression and growth (Hai & Van, 2021). Engaging employees leads to constant communication that creates a healthy and loyal workforce. To achieve my vision, I will ensure teamwork is implemented to increase patient care, and as a leader, the required resources for the organization should be available to increase wellness.

Conclusion

Leadership behaviours influence the attainment of organizational goals; therefore, a leader’s values, thoughts, and beliefs make an organization succeed or drag behind. Aligning the vision and mission with the goals is important because working as a team to achieve specific objectives will be easy. Leaders must understand the importance of adopting values that will promote success and guide them in decision-making.

Pituitary disorders are a collection of conditions that affect the pituitary gland, which is situated near the base of the brain. This small but essential organ modulates hormone production and secretion, thereby regulating numerous physiological processes. Common pituitary issues include hormone deficiencies, hormone excesses, and malignancies.

Common Symptoms of the Disease

Hormone imbalance is one of the most prevalent pituitary symptoms, and it may produce a variety of signs and symptoms (Bickley, 2020). For instance, individuals with growth hormone deficiency may experience fatigue, a decrease in muscle mass, an increase in adipose mass, poor development (in children), and a decrease in bone density (Baumgartner et al., 2023). In contrast, individuals with adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) deficiency typically experience fatigue, frailty, low blood pressure, weight loss, and impaired stress response (Fleseriu et al., 2020). A deficiency in TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) may result in fatigue, weight gain, cold sensitivity, constipation, and parched skin. Insufficiency of antidiuretic hormone (ADH) may induce excessive thirst, urination, dehydration, and electrolyte abnormalities.

Pituitary problems, in addition to hormonal abnormalities, may cause visual impairments. This happens when pituitary tumors push on the optic nerves. Individuals may encounter symptoms such as diminished peripheral vision, double vision, or even vision loss in one or both eyes (Baumgartner et al., 2023).. Another typical hallmark of pituitary problems is headaches, which are often connected with the presence of tumors. The strength and frequency of these headaches might vary.

Growth hormone deficiency, for example, may be treated using synthetic growth hormone. Surgical intervention may be required in certain cases. Transsphenoidal surgery, which reaches the pituitary gland via the nasal cavity, is usually used to remove bigger tumors or those that cause many symptoms.
