Impact Of Technology Essay Example

Technology is a system of scientific knowledge used for practical purposes. Culture is a way of life that is beliefs, religion, language, and rituals passed from one generation to another. Technology impacts culture via media globalization, for media technology is the most significant influence worldwide. People can get all kinds of information through computers and cellphone quickly. With the help of the internet, people connect to various social media and groups with a particular worldview. The essay discusses how technology impacts socio-culture and how human culture has impacted technology.

Different cultures use technology differently; people consume goods and technology manufactured beyond their own culture. Cultural difference between human beings has been at the core of social anthropology since it became a discipline. According to (Sibani 2018), the study of western culture has a very significant impact on our society. People have continued to embrace the culture in most things done from food, dressing, religion, traditions, and even the government. The anthropological concept helps understand who was talking, and it consists of a wide range of knowledge detailed by all populations whose content varies from group to group. The role of technology in society shows the relationship that brings together community and individuals using information technology. Technology is not all about the machine but the relationship between human beings, utensils, and the field of knowledge. The anthropological theory defines culture as a set of communicative acts. Communication allows groups and individuals to interact and represent themselves with the world through norms and values, for it is easier, quicker, and more effective.

Indigenous people are using tools Such as video conferencing, digitized documents, and radio over the internet. The majority of technologies promote and preserve culture, tradition, and human rights. People are separated from technology in western unlike in the indigenous, where technology depends on the circumstance that forms the settings for an idea. Indigenous technology is communal and has a holistic approach, which means it provides support considering physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being. Technology informs of science is measured in the western concept, unlike in indigenous where it is inclusive of all information, its cooperative and peaceful. According to (Pramuda et al., 2019), science technology applies scientific knowledge, which includes observations and experimentation of physical and natural worlds. Western technology has brought about the exploitation of resources since it is materialistic. Also, it has a selected group of people that are superior in terms of quality to the rest of the society, unlike the indigenous technology, which is based on sustainable ways of living and is collective. Traditional technology emphasizes the practical application of skills and knowledge, while western technology emphasizes understanding how a machine works. Even with the differences, the universal is unified, the body of technology is stable but subject to modification, whereas, with every century, there will be new upcoming technology.

Technology has changed over time; many changes have improved communication, work, travel, and play. With the internet, there is ready access to information. According to (Lee et al., 2020), internet connectivity allows doing things online such as shopping, banking, and staying intact to communication. Through technology, payment has been made easier and safer by validating the process via fingerprint. A decade years ago was a time for phenomenal innovation, which led to the transition to mobile and the rise of data, which contributed to the growth of media and biotechnology. With time, additional changes will take place as algorithms improve. Technology has brought about innovations. For example, with the use of GPS, traveling has become much easier since it gives step-by-step voice directions, making it safer for every driver. Therefore, it helps by telling you when to arrive, which road to avoid, and the fastest possible road. Technology has brought about innovation and apps that help people monitor pulse blood sugar levels in the healthcare sector and improve the laboratory system. Patients can report data remotely to specific doctors without traveling long distances for treatment.

In conclusion, technology came to meet the need of humans, and it has changed the lives and behaviors in today’s society. People use technology to survive by providing excellent resources that bring a difference in everyday life. Technology is everywhere and is in control for access of information is a few clicks on a device. Indigenous technology should complement western technology to make life simpler and more accommodative. Good and controlled use of technology produces good results, while destructive and uncontrolled use of technology is devastating. People should use technology to better their life and maintain their culture.

Impact Of Tourism On Economic Development Free Sample

Tourism does not solely involve the movement of individuals from their homes or their country to visit other recreational facilities. Still, it is a cultural, social, and economic phenomenon that involves the movement of individuals to countries for business or personal purposes. Besides just the basic concept of movement, tourism comes with a package of activities, services, and personnel involved to make this experience worthwhile (Ren et al., 2019). A Tourist is sometimes called a visitor who can either be a resident or a Non-resident. Tourism brings both positive and negative impacts on the social-economical lives of the local communities. It, therefore, sum up all the activities and industries that create a tourist experience. This article shall look at how tourism has impacted the economic growth of different countries of its origin.

The growth of a country depends on the revenue it generates from the activities that are carried out within its boundaries. Tourism, for one, is income-generating that brings with it huge economic potential. Employment, currency exchange, imports, and taxes are some of the money is generated in the country (Ren et al., 2019). In recent years, tourism has increased in numbers. For many reasons, we experience growth in technology, increased disposable income, the rapid growth in Airlines, and a more personal desire to travel to new destinations. Arguably, tourism is a financial expenditure. Money invested in tourism cannot be used anywhere else. This is why several independent investors play a vital role in the tourism industry. they own hotels, lands, and roads that ensure tourism is a success (Zhang,2021).

Most importantly, Tourism generates income for the host country through foreign exchange, and this money can be reinvested in the economy. Only how this money is invested in the country differs greatly. some countries may invest in public amenities like schools, hospitals, etc. others can reinvest in improving the tourism sector while some lose the money through corruption (Ren et al., 2019). Further, through taxes collected as a result of tourism employment or businesses, the government can invest the money to expand the businesses of local communities who, in one way or the other, supply these tourists with locally produced goods and foods. Also, the government can revamp its social amenities to make the country a desirable tourist destination (Zhang,2021. Moreover, through the expansive intentional tourism, hotel owners have led to job creation for the locals, both directly and indirectly. The Hotels might require staff, taxi drivers, guides, cleaners, etc. these people can only be accessed through the locals. Economically, all the money realized through tourism, either formal or informal, is invested back in the local economy. this money is invested mostly in the local community where the tourist attraction is (Puah 2018). sustainable government investment will see its locals benefit more even to areas that are not tourism-related but connected somehow in the economic system.

In conclusion, tourism plays a vital role in the economic development of a country. The local community always benefits greatly through job creation as staff and guides in the hotels. They also can sell their locally made wares to the tourist to earn a living. The Government earns its revenue through taxes collected on tourists whenever they visit any creational facility. Different countries have different currencies. The strong ones benefit the low currency; whenever money is received and exchanged to the local currency, the amount realized is huge and can help commence different government projects that will eventually benefit the local community.

Impacting Change Using Career Sample Assignment

Policy evaluation is the determined, systematic, and collection and analysis of information to discern the effectiveness and impact (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, [CDC] 2019). According to Rahman Khan, Mizanur, and Rahman (n.d.), policy evaluation measures the efficiency of a program. The main purpose of policy evaluation is to determine a policy’s effectiveness and efficiency. It analyzes to what extent a policy has been generated, the effects it aims o achieve, how and why it has produced the intended impacts. However, there has to be a policy put in place and adopted following a specific agenda for a policy evaluation. As a policy evaluation officer, one is expected to research, analyze and give advice on issues concerned with the organization both internally and externally.

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is one of the leading interracial organizations aiming to eliminate barriers to racial discrimination. NAACP aims to end racism and build Black political, social, and economic supremacy (NAACP, n.d.). Policy evaluation helps the NAACP make decisions and concentrate on the problem area. As a policy evaluation officer in the NAACP, the most important thing is to ensure policies effectively accomplish the organization’s objectives. The minority racial groups for centuries have been discriminated against and been left out of society by the racial majority. The NAACP is among the organization working towards changing society’s attitude towards the racial minority. For the NAACP to effectively impact a change peacefully, policies must be evaluated.

The biggest driver in the NAACP is to end racial discrimination in all aspects African Americans face. Discrimination has caused the African American community to feel insecure in their own country and face a lot of injustices de to prejudiced beliefs by some of their white counterparts. Among the problems faced by the black community include being criminalized by the law enforcers and the judiciary even when innocent, and some had died at the hands of law enforcers when they did not deserve it, in hospitals the white community gets the government and the blacks neglect the first privilege, most hospitals in the African American communities get poor medical treatment. To change discrimination attitudes in the community, policies have to be sensitively evaluated to serve the intended purpose.

It takes a combined effort to improve the community and leave it better than future generations. Although everyone has a different place where they wish to work, I should be upon you o try to make a difference in your organization. Everyone ought to think in a diversified manner of equality and see the other person as a human who deserves the best in their lives. It can be very good to create a change in the careers you choose for yourself and the organization you intend to work in, especially in situations where people of color are racially discriminated against. Everyone can develop policies that may help improve their organization and help put a smile on other people’s faces without working in a social movement organization. The injustices of racial discrimination should be brought to an end in work areas.

With the involvement of the NAACP in education which is a part of our policies, we take the initiative to employ graduates and students to give them a chance to make a change in the lives of others. Anti-racism policy is directed to employees and students so all can be advocates. Moreover, by recruiting more people in our organization, we can work better and more effectively towards achieving equality. Your job applications to the NAACP are welcome. However, qualifications will be considered based on an individual’s employability skills. According to Indeed Editorial Team (2020), employability skills help improve workplace performance and improve one’s career.

As you work in the NAACP, you meet new people from different backgrounds and workmates. We all have to cope with each other despite our differences. To cope with each other, you must have good communication skills and a willingness to work with your teammates. Employability skills are very important because not all people fit for all jobs, and people best work in their most conducive environments, which individuals feel comfortable working in. In NAACP, the most important employability skills include being a team player, good communication skills, willingness to learn, possessing problem-solving and decision-making skills, and the ability to resolve conflicts.

Making change does not necessarily mean that you ought to be working in an organization; rather, it has to come from the heart and the willingness to help others. Although not everyone may get the opportunity to be recruited at the NAACP, I highly encourage you to join us in making a difference in society by becoming a member in a local NAACP unit or a partner.
