Importance Of Informing In Human Interaction Essay Example

The social aspects of human interaction are due to many factors that are imperceptible to persons. Many people today use social networks and other Internet resources to get the information they need. However, any information in the online space can be created to manipulate people’s opinions and create false beliefs. The film The Social Dilemma highlights these issues and can have a beneficial effect on countering manipulation and misinformation.

Summary

The Social Dilemma is a documentary released by Netflix to raise people’s awareness of the internet. The main points in the film were that social networks use algorithms to manipulate people and how this can negatively affect the psyche (Kenny 01:15-05:00). At the same time, these arguments are supported by several facts given in the film. For example, interviews of many employees from well-known companies working in the social Internet field, such as Google or Mozilla. Thus, social networking algorithms significantly affect democratic values because they can impose specific thoughts on people, including those regarding politics. Social media can thus contribute to intense polarization and misinformation in society, which causes adverse effects and can affect human relationships.

Reaction

The theme and ideas of the video can be correlated with those discussed in the textbook and course materials. Social security is an important aspect that must be preserved in society. Thus, the impact of social networks on a person can deprive them of their ability to think critically. This is possible because various topics in the media are presented with so-called hard evidence, which automatically makes people think that the data shown is valid. These problems are fully correlated with those that people meet in modern realities. With the development of technology, it is becoming increasingly difficult for users of social networks to distinguish facts from fictitious ones designed to be manipulated. Moreover, with the advent of various neural networks that can fake photos, this topic is becoming even more relevant in the modern world.

This video caused me mixed feelings related to the fear that people do not understand much about modern social networking algorithms. This, in turn, is a threatening factor that can substantially impact society’s behavior. Thus, the material and the film are directly related to my life and everyday experience since I constantly use social networks and fall under the influence of the algorithms of their work. The film also influenced my ideas and feelings because I started to think about some of the material I constantly see online and whether this information contributes to my doing specific actions. After watching the documentary, the factor of manipulation of human actions is one of the most important for me to study.

It can be said that this work further increased my understanding of this topic by processing information from the film. It changed my perspective in such a way that I began to pay more attention to fact-checking and the development of critical thinking. The merit of the video is relatively high as it reveals many insights that improve people’s understanding of social networking algorithms. This is the importance of points that help to realize the importance of critical thinking. At the same time, the material is presented consistently, and the narration contributes to a better perception of the content. In this regard, I would recommend this video for viewing, as it can protect people from manipulation.

Conclusion

Watched documentary broadly represents the topics of social networking algorithms and various companies that collect data. They are aimed mainly at creating an opinion among people that will be beneficial to someone in this way by manipulating society. This is an urgent problem since the development of modern technologies is increasingly contributing to the immersion of people in the Internet space where they need to show critical thinking.

Reaction To The Social Dilemma Video

Summary of the Video

The documentary drama calls social networks the biggest threat to humanity. Through interviews with Silicon Valley engineers and experts in the field of technology and psychology, the dwells on how IT companies manipulate human psychology in order to make a profit (Social Dilemma 24:22).

My Reaction

The video topic is related to ideas and concerns discussed in the course and found in my textbook as it calls for compliance with information security. The video is related to problems in our present-day world as information leakage is one of the most acute problems of our time. The material is related to my life, experiences, feelings and ideas since I am an active user of social networks and I am concerned about my online safety. The video has aroused emotions of anxiety and worry in me. The work increased my understanding of a particular issue of user data safety online. It has not changed my perspective in any way because even before watching the video I was extremely concerned about the personal information that gets into online access.

The importance of video points is very high, since today most people use social networks, therefore, the problem discussed in the video is urgent. In my opinion, the accuracy of the video is also quite high, since the information of people who directly worked in Google and Facebook was provided (Social Dilemma 01:05:00). The video can be called complete, as it discusses all the main current issues regarding the topic. However, at the same time, the video has a rather chaotic organization with a large number of scattered fragments from the interview. I would recommend this video to others if they are active users of social networks so that they are aware of the risks that lie in wait for them online.

A Palette Of Emotions: The Lasting Impact Of Janan Cain’s “The Way I Feel”

“The Way I Feel” by Janan Cain is more than just a straightforward picture book from my youth; it became a guide for navigating my emotions. The pages of Cain’s gorgeous imagery and emotional words revealed a means to comprehend and communicate interior sentiments. The book’s comprehensive investigation of emotions was a landmark throughout my formative years, laying the groundwork for ongoing quest for emotional self-discovery.

Like an artist facing a blank canvas, the inability to comprehend and articulate emotions has long been a problem. I was overflowing with colors but lacked a palette to arrange them on. When Cain’s book entered my life, it was like getting the missing palette (Cain 1). The ability to distinguish between the numerous shades of happiness, despair, and rage masterfully captured in “The Way I Feel” suddenly became apparent.

One of the book’s main lessons was understanding that it was natural and valid to experience the whole spectrum of emotions. It explained that emotions were not and did not have to be in black and white. My life was a tapestry of complex emotions, similar to the story in the book, with each thread adding to the overall picture of my existence (Cain 10). Since emotions are the colors that paint the canvas of our lives, Cain’s poetic representation of the emotional spectrum made it easier for me to comprehend that it is acceptable to feel and that it is good to be in the grey areas.

The book became my guide, and I began viewing the world with a more educated perspective. Making sense of my feelings and those of others, I started to comprehend the complexity of the emotional reactions I was observing around me. The emotional literacy “The Way I Feel” gave me helped me develop a strong sense of compassion and social sensitivity to navigate social settings (Mr. Inquiry). “The Way I Feel” underlined the importance of emotions, including unpleasant ones, enabling me to understand other people’s emotional experiences.

Through Cain’s work, I developed emotional fortitude. Frustration was portrayed in the book in a way that remained with me. It taught me that feeling irritated was not a sign of failure but rather a call to face and overcome difficulties (Cain 14). This insight strengthened my attitude toward adversity, causing me to see it as a chance for growth rather than a discouraging obstacle. I felt as though Cain had given me an emotional compass pointing me toward resilience as I was navigating the landscape of irritation.

The ephemeral nature of emotions was another thing “The Way I Feel” brought to mind. Every emotion, no matter how strong, has a shelf life. Feelings come and go, as Cain so brilliantly puts them. They are all a part of me, whether silly or angry, joyful or sad (Cain 23). During difficult times, this viewpoint was quite helpful in calming down tumultuous emotions. It functioned as a lighthouse amid my emotional storm, constantly reassuring me that even the most erratic moods would pass and that peace would eventually return.

Cain’s book’s significant influence on my emotional intelligence as a young adult. Even now, as I traverse the complexity of life, its direction is quite helpful, and its lessons are very relevant. The book was more than just a compilation of poems and pictures for me (Mr. Inquiry); it was a building block for my emotional knowledge. I recognize that this book has served as my emotional compass, navigating me across the complex terrain of my feelings as I consider the range of emotions that adulthood has thrown at me.

In hindsight, “The Way I Feel” was my encyclopedia of emotions. Every page offered the chance to comprehend and relate to my emotions, and every illustration served as a portal to personal growth. These teachings from a seemingly straightforward children’s book formed my emotional intelligence and, consequently, the person I am today. Additionally, as my emotional vocabulary expanded, the book’s effect grew, underlining its importance in my journey toward personal development.

Cain’s book still shapes my emotional lexicon, which affects how I understand and express my emotions. An innocuous childhood toy continues to impact my life significantly and has improved my ability to communicate and understand emotions. I frequently return to the book in times of emotional upheaval to reconnect with the knowledge inside its pages, which is a testimonial to its influence. Amazingly, each revisit reveals subtleties I had never observed before, improving my understanding of my inner self.

In conclusion, Janan Cain’s “The Way I Feel” has irrevocably changed the course of my emotional journey. It taught me how to express myself artistically and in the language of feelings. It has accompanied me as I have grown and is a big part of my life. The narrative’s simplicity betrays the teachings’ depth, which is still relevant to me today and in the future.
