Are students who fail their classes to be retained and have to repeat the grade? Students are in school to learn, to show their potentials, and pour out their intelligence through their hard work and dedication. Why is it the many students don’t grasp this simple concept and put their best skills to the test? Countess students don’t put attention to the work they are assigned resulting in failing classes. It would be wrong to other students for these kids to be allowed to pass the grade if they do not pass all their classes. I firmly believe that students who fail all their classes should have to be retained and would repeat their grade.

Statistical averages of students achievements isn’t the only educational excellence in a school. No matter where the student comes from, whether it involves family backgrounds or other characteristics, they should have fun learning and being TABLE to have a sense of accomplishment in their work. There’s no point in sending an unprepared student to fail further in their future grade. It wouldn’t make sense because the student would only be permitted to the following grade to fail yet again. Because these students don’t show there aptitudes, I strongly believe that as a consequence for their failing grades on every class they have, they should be retained and have to repeat their grade. It wouldn’t be reasonTABLE if one student worked day and night trying their best to get the greatest grades they can while another student doesn’t care about their grades, but still manages to go into the same grade as the better student. Learning should be pleasurTABLE; it should give a student a sense of accomplishment and a happy glint in their eyes when they see a good grade before them.

Economic factors- the consultant will look at if the target market can afford the product. In addition, the consultant must look at if the Phillip-Morris can afford to borrow he necessary funds to produce the product. Environmental Factors- The consultant look at how the e-cigarettes will be packaged and what type of chemicals is going to be used in the production of the product. Depending on the package materials and the chemicals that are used in the production of the product can have a negative effect on the environment.

Green issues are important in society today, and the firm must take the issues of protecting the environment in consideration when producing any product. Political and legal factors- relates to the government of a countries federal, state, and local law eased by various governmental agencies. In this analysis the consultant must look at what laws and the attitudes Of government agencies have been made for regulating smoking e-cigarettes. Ethical Factors- The consultant must look at how the product will be packaged, design and the marketing campaign to entice consumers to buy the product.

This is because the negative publicity cigarettes firms marketing, packaging, and design its products to minors. With the company to having the technology or the technical know how to produce e-cigarettes the price of the product can be very expensive. This has a negative affect on the economical factor, because many consumers may not be able to afford the product.

In addition, by the firm using a third party to produce the product the firm does not assume the risk of borrowing the necessary funds. The firm will not have any negative environmental factors of producing the product, because the third party will assume the risk. However, Phillip-Morris does Impact the environment with its current production of making cigarettes. In the political and legal issues the firm can face is very limited. Phillip-Morris will have to comply with federal, state, and local laws governing the legal age requirement for purchasing the product.

The firm will have ethical issues if the packaging, design, and marketing is promoting the alternative way of smoking as “cool. ” This can entice young society members to purchase and use the product. However, if its marketing, packaging and design is to provide adults an alternative and health way of smoking. This will show society that the firm cares about the health of its customers and those ho are affected by second hand smoke. Balance Scorecard The balance scorecard gives the organization a total management system to help clarify its vision and strategy.

In addition, this technique gives the usable data for the organization to take appropriate business actions, provides feedback to the internal business processes and the external outcomes to improve the firms strategic performance. According to the article “Using the Balance Scorecard,” written by Kaplan and Norton (1996), (up. 75-85) the balance scorecard has four perspectives of: Financial Perspectives- Phillip- Morris must balance its business functions which as been allocated across the organization. If the Phillip-Morris decides to increase its economic growth it can do this through a productivity strategy.

With this perspective Phillip-Morris will have to take on its competition. The company will have to differentiate its alee proposition. Phillip-Morris can do this by selecting different operational excellence, customer intimacy, and product leadership.

Business Process Perspectives-This matrix allows management to understand how efficiently the organization is performing. Phillip- Morris is the largest tobacco firms and has a clear objective for its current and attention stockholders. This objective can be to improve the financial side of the firm.

In this case the firm has the motivation to have long-term shareholder value, and avoiding the ethical issues that is associated with tobacco companies. By doing this Philip-Morris will neglect the customer, business process, and learning and growth perspective of the balance scorecard. Phillip-Morris must develop a different business strategy to have a more balanced scorecard. Recommendations The STEEPLE analysis shows Phillip-Morris has a negative sociological and technological factor. There are no environmental factors in producing e- cigarettes, and the political and legal issues will be the same as other tobacco products.

The ethical factors can be a negative or positive depending on how the company package, design, and market the product. Phillip-Morris balance scorecard focuses on the financial perspective, while neglecting the three other perspectives. With Phillip-Morris focusing on the financial perspective, and without the technical know how. It is recommended that Phillip-Morris look for a third party to produce its e-cigarettes. It is also the recommendation for Phillip-Morris to enter in a joint venture so it can gain he technical knowledge and have a complete balance scorecard.

Fast And The Furious

I believe “The Fast and The Furious” movie series has impacted our society to a great extent in our present day. This movie is a perfect example of a low culture film and is made for the common person to watch and enjoy. After the first movie of this series came out, slowly but surely people began modifying their cars and tried turning them into speed machines just like the cars in the movie. It became more common than ever to see small Japanese cars like Honda Civics’ hooked up with an enormous oversized muffler screaming down the road.

Just recently, I went to go see the 4th of the Fast and the Furious series in the movie theatres the night that it came out. After the movie, there was a big circle of about 25 cars in the parking lot either blasting their systems or showing off their tuned up cars by doing donuts. I was sort of amazed to see that this was going on because that meant it probably wasn’t just happening it Staten Island, but places all over the country this was going on. The Fast and the Furious series sparked a big interest in teenagers wanting to tune up their cars and have the fastest car out there on the road.

This movie is basically in a way an advertisement showing all the new technologies and modifications you can possibly do to your car. What made the series as popular as it is today is the fact that up until 2001 when the first one came out, there was never a movie of this sort made before with all these flashy cars and street races. Some people blame the movie for the increase of street racing that began to occur soon afterwards along with a sudden increase of sales for small high-powered motorcycles.

The Fast and the Furious has many scenes throughout the movie where you don’t believe what you’re seeing because it’s a little too unrealistic and absurd. As an example in the most recent one that came out, there’s a scene where an oil tanker is roller down a hill and Vin Diesel is his car waiting for the right moment to drive under it to avoid it and he does. Another example is when in 2 Fast 2 Furious; Paul Walker drives his car off a ramp over the water and crashes it directly into the yacht he was trying to catch.

It must have been a crazy coincidence that there happened to be a ramp there and the odds of catching a moving boat is a little outrageous. These scenes were basically in the movie strictly for the people’s entertainment. Another reason why The Fast and the Furious is as great low culture film and attracts people is the fact that there really are no good guy characters in this movie. Paul Walker is probably the closest thing to the good guy in this movie, but in actuality he’s a corrupt detective, prone to petty violence, and has a big love for street racing.

Even the cops in all of the Fast and the Furious movies are looked down on by the people watching. This is because the movie makes the cops look like pigs from the way they treat Paul Walker. For example, when they captured him in 2 Fast 2 Furious and wanted to use him as a driver to clear his record. They put a tracking device on the vehicle they gave him and thought he was escaping because he was going really fast so the cops showed up and they exchanged gun fire with each other at the car impound lot.

In conclusion, The Fast and The Furious has influenced the people and attracted large audiences in many ways making it a great popular culture film. A car to some people nowadays expresses who they are and more people than ever are out tuning up their cars and putting designs on it to show that. It’s not about American muscle cars anymore like it used to be, because import cars have officially taken over now thanks to this movie.

It used to be all about who has the biggest engine, but now it greatly expanded from just that. From my own experience when I was down in Florida this past summer I attended a street racing event and some people showed up to race, others competed to who’s system sounded better and louder, and some competed with the design of the exterior and interior of the car.
