The most cost-effective solution is to replace all cars in the city with donkeys to reduce air pollution, make people healthier, and turn Los Angeles into the largest producer of organic fertilizers.

Replacing cars with one donkey per household will help solve the problem of air pollution and improve citizens’ mental condition. First of all, car emissions have a detrimental impact on the environment, which is recognized by experts from different countries (Veremchuk et al. 76). In contrast, donkeys’ waste products do not cause harm to the environment since they are a part of nature. Additionally, donkey manure is among the well-known natural fertilizers, and it has numerous benefits for crops if used in the right doses. One more positive outcome associated with the proposed solution is its impact on people’s mental health.

Air pollution is hypothesized to be a factor impacting mental illness rates, and traffic congestion can be a potential cause of road rage and drivers’ stress. Unlike the use of cars, riding donkeys can positively influence people’s condition by reducing traffic jams. Moreover, due to their friendliness, donkeys are popular therapy animals that help people to cope with stress. People cannot be friends with lifeless machines, but when it comes to donkeys – building strong relationships with your transport animal is possible.

The discussed initiative is also expected to improve the situation with agriculture in the country. Having implemented this new approach to transportation in the city, the government will be able to encourage agricultural and economic growth, thus strengthening the city’s positions in the country. In this regard, the difference between a car and a donkey is that the latter is able to produce products facilitating crop nutrition.

To motivate people to get maximum advantage out of their donkeys’ natural abilities, an incentive system can be implemented. For instance, those owning the most effective producers of donkey manure in the city can be offered an opportunity to upgrade their animals. As a reward, they will be able to install antigravity systems, mechanical wings, anti-theft devices, smart reservoirs with liquid food supplements, or temperature-control saddles. There will be too much donkey manure, and an excess supply of the product will be sold to other states, causing an increased inflow of money.

People opposing the initiative in question often explain their position with reference to the transport options’ working capacity. It is true that some cars outperform donkeys in terms of speed, but this limitation does not make transport animals’ benefits less important. Since donkeys are a bit slower than the best cars, citizens will need more time to get to their workplace, which is a problem.

However, there is a simple and effective solution that will require reorganization in some companies. It involves encouraging the largest employers to change their approach to human resource logistics and make sure that all employees live close to work and can even get to their office on foot.

To sum it up, the decision to make donkeys the most common type of transport in Los Angeles will solve the problem of air pollution and reduce people’s mental health risks related to traffic jams and stress. John Logan’s “Never The Sinner” Play Performance

The play “Never the Sinner” by John Logan delivers an ambitious and explorative experience. It is directed by Charles Falcon, who did an outstanding job of managing the team. The world premiere of the play being reviewed was held in Stormfield Theatre in Chicago. The “Never the Sinner” was presented by the San Antonio College Department of Fine Arts in Texas. The dates were from the 7th to 17th of February. The main topic and plot of the play revolved around Nietzsche’s idea of Ubermensch or Superman. The story is about two male characters with perfectly comfortable lives who proceed to commit horrendous crimes in order to exercise their superiority. The play outlines how arrogance can lead to a path of self-destruction.

In general, the cast’s overall performance was highly believable and outstanding because the pacing and speed of storytelling were slow and yet entertaining. However, there were minor issues related to their teamwork, which seemed in need of further improvement. The dialogues and communicative parts between characters were a little lagging, which hindered the fully immersive experience of the play. Nonetheless, the given issue was present only during the first part, and then later, the cast had given an excellent performance.

The team had achieved its goal of delivering an idea of Overman and the concepts behind Nietzsche’s views. The story and the performers fully reveal how the underlying philosophy can be manifested in real life.

The main characters are Richard Loeb, played by Ryan Willis, Nathan Leopold, played by Gabriel Gonzales, Robert Crowe, played by Eric Quiroz, and Clarence Darrow, played by Kyle Pichot. The reporters #1, #2, and #3 were performed by Stephen Mullen, Trinity Stevens, and Ernesto Dominguez, respectively. The character of Nathan Leopold Jr. was the first one to appear; therefore, there was an immense responsibility for delivering an impressive start. Gabriel’s performance was perfect, and he can be considered the strongest performer due to his charm and charisma. Although all cast members showed an outstanding performance, Kyle Pichot, who played Clarence Darrow, was not as loud as it was needed to be. In addition, Kyle gave delayed responses several times through the play.

Scene designer Nathan Thurman did a fantastic job making every scene as believable as possible because the viewer could forget that it was all staged. Background, set designs, costumes, and props were satisfying additional elements to the overall play because they created a fully immersive experience. However, the sound and lighting needed some improvement because it seemed that occasionally the viewer could not hear the performers’ key phrases. Moreover, the light was not bright enough, which made some key scenes dim. It is clear that the current technology allows eliminating the technical problems of lighting and sound effects.

In conclusion, the performance and production of the play “Never the Sinner” by John Logan was an outstanding and highly immersive experience, and the team did an excellent job of delivering the main message. The main characters were successful in expressing and stimulating correct emotional states. In addition, their charm and charisma enhanced the believability factor even more. Although the technical part had some minor problems with lighting and sound design, in general, every detail was in place. The costumes and props delivered an authentic experience, and the stage management led by Arianna Angeles demonstrated a high level of professionalism.

“The Seven T’s At Seventy” Concert By Ferguson

A music concert that I attended was entitled The Seven T’s at Seventy and was dedicated to the 70th birthday of Charles Ferguson, a lecturer at California Institute of the Arts, who was also a solo performer during the show. The concert took place on January 19, 2019, in the Campbell Recital Hall. The major instrument featured was guitar, and the repertoire included several classical compositions by Tárrega, Túrina, Tórroba, Tedesco, Tansman, Telemann, and Tchaikovsky.

The pieces played by Ferguson were highly versatile in terms of genre and overall sound characteristics because the works he selected to perform came from different periods and cultural backgrounds. The composition by Telemann, Fantasia No. 6 Grave-Presto-Siciliana-Allegro in E Minor, especially stood out because it belongs to the late Baroque period. Thus, the melody in Telemann’s piece has an almost solemn quality it and a measured order of movement.

Even though Fantasia No. 6 was originally intended to be played on a violin, it is possible to say that Ferguson’s arrangement of this composition for a guitar not only successfully transferred its melodic qualities but also endowed it with greater sound depth.

Besides the piece by Telemann, Ferguson also adapted some piano compositions by Tchaikovsky (Autumn Song and selections from Album for the Young) and Tansman (Chant sans Parole and selections from Pour Les Enfants). The works by the latter composer and musician of Polish origin, who lived in the 20th century, have the French neoclassical style characteristics: clarity, emotional restraint, expanded tonality, exquisite balance, and so forth. At the same time, the works by Tchaikovsky, who lived in 19th century Russia, belong to the classical, romantic tradition, which is more emotional than neoclassicism and is associated with greater ambiguity of form.

Among Tchaikovsky’s pieces played during the concert, Autumn Song was particularly lyrical, whereas some selections from the Album for the Young, including March of the Wooden Soldiers and Baba Yaga, were more dynamic and fast-paced. Overall, Ferguson’s selection of Tchaikovsky’s works reflected the diversity of the composer’s talent to some extent. However, as a person who is accustomed to listening to Tchaikovsky’s short pieces played on a piano, I was not very fond of Ferguson’s versions. Nevertheless, I can give full credit to the performer for an impeccable, expressive, and sincere guitar play.

In my opinion, the pieces created by the Spanish composers Tárrega, Túrina, Tórroba, and the Italian composer, Tedesco, which Ferguson also chose to perform at his solo concert, were particularly successful. None of these prominent 20th-century composers had strictly defined style and their works frequently comprised the features of neoclassicism, impressionism, and Spanish folk.

For instance, Madroños incorporated some melodic qualities similar to traditional flamenco with frequent accents, a collection of ascending tones and pitches, and brisk rhythmic patterns. Along with other compositions performed by Ferguson, such as Burgalesa, Allegro con Spirito from Guitar Sonata in D Major, Adelita y Lágrima, Madroños was specifically designed to demonstrate the whole complexity of guitar techniques. Thus, with his immaculate skills, Ferguson delivered a top-notch listening experience to the audience when playing them.

The Seven T’s at Seventy became one of the most enjoyable concerts that I have recently visited. I liked the overall selection of compositions included in the show. They were sufficiently diverse and, what is probably more important, perfectly performed. The overall organization of the concert was without a hitch as well. The performer communicated with the audience and conveyed all the necessary information. Thus, he managed to keep all music lovers who attended the concert properly entertained and engaged.
